Your hair journey will end beautifully, but it won’t be easy. 

The ridiculous notion of being told you are 50%. As it leaves you feeling like you’re not enough.

Each curl is a stress i just wanna feel pretty, not any less Except each curl is a story I must learn not to worry.

Sometimes, life will try to take everything away from you. Sometimes, it’ll feel successful.

These are the things that make me who I am.

Your path will open a way to girls like us.

I was surrounded by fellow outlaws, also six years old and in first grade.

My ancestors tongue, flows freely, communally...

It's exhausting justifying a world not meant for me.

Sometimes the youngest one, sometimes the quietest one.

These hands, my hands,  inherited from generations of women who came before me...

I always feel a little pressured to pick and choose.

It’s up to us to decide whether to chase our dreams or let them slip away.

What do you see when you look at me?

I live as part of the generation that carries my ancestors' unfinished dreams.
